A&M Meats: Dedicated to Feeding New Mexicans

Food Production

Client

A&M Meats

Location

Alamogordo, NM

Project Brief

Scope

Rad5 Media partnered with the State of New Mexico and the Healthy Food Financing Fund to produce a series of testimonial films—categorized into retail, value chain, and institutional buckets—highlighting statewide initiatives dedicated to feeding New Mexicans. For the A&M Meats project, we collaborated with co-owner Michelle Thomas to document their transition from a modest, late-night game processor to becoming one of only four high-capacity, USDA-certified slaughter facilities in the state. To visually capture their profound impact on food security and rural economic development, our production team designed a specific narrative strategy: filming a successful local rancher bringing cattle into the new facility. By doing so, we were able to actively demonstrate how A&M’s state-funded processing upgrades empower local agricultural entrepreneurs to embrace direct-to-consumer models, overcome regional distribution bottlenecks, and keep high-quality, farm-to-table meat within the local community.
